In 2007, Oprah Winfrey realized her five year dream of creating a safe educational environment for impoverished girls in South Africa when she opened The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls. Oprah personally designed every inch of the beautiful boarding school, from the architecture to the linens. She lovingly calls the students her "daughters" and they in turn respectfully call her "Mom O." In this heartwarming and intimate PeopleTV feature, Oprah shares the genesis of the school, her hopes and dreams for her students, and some of the most important life-lessons she imparts. Two graduates of the inaugural class, Thando Dlomo and Mpumi Nobiva, also share their inspirational life-stories growing up in some of the most impoverished communities in South Africa.
